Sandra Conner’s ongoing challenge, “Thursday’s Windows,” inspired me to post a few of my window photos.
Here are the pretty windows at Rick’s Cafe in Casablanca, designed to recreate the bar made famous by Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman in the movie ‘Casablanca’.
And here are some of the most recognisable windows in the world, albeit a bit blurry.
Here at the ‘New Sun Hong Kong’ restaurant in San Francisco, it’s not so much about the windows, as the decoration around them.
The windows at the Salem Witch Museum in New England, are really lovely.
Last but by no means least are the hundreds of windows in the Chrysler Building, New York. I wonder if the outsides ever get cleaned? I’m so glad it’s not my job. π

Love these, especially Rick’s Cafe in Morocco and the βNew Sun Hong Kongβ restaurant in San Francisco. How quirky is that?
Thanks, Cathy. Yes, I think my best one is the San Fran restaurant. Love it, but we didn’t eat there. π¦
I love San Francisco’s China Town altogether!
So many lovely windows – hard to pick a favourite π
Thanks, Madhu. π
Love the one in San Fransisco..that chrysler building is a land mark…but so ugly!!!
Don’t you even like the pretty stainless steel spire? π
Windows that opens itself to a totally amazing world. Wonderful pics. Have a great weekend.
Thanks so much. You too. π
Excellent all… I love the Salem Witch Museum very much. The rest are fab too an nothing touches that Chrysler Building… π
Thank you……that Chrysler building is phenomenal and I was reading some very interesting facts about it too. Fascinating. π
I used to work behind the Chrysler building and it’s my reference landmark in New York π
That’s interesting, Tandy. You certainly can’t miss it. π
Thank you for share with us this wonderful pictures! with love maxima .
Glad you enjoyed these. π
You have varied sorts of windows in here. π I think I still prefer to look at the world through those old fashioned windows, though the modern glass ones are a good for a regular change of pace. π
Thanks, Imelda. Yes, I also think that the old fashioned windows are far more attractive. π
I would love to enjoy a bottle (or two) of champagne at Ricks!
“Here’s looking at you, kid.” π
I love the art of the restaurant, the elegance of the Chrysler but most of all Casablanca! π
Thanks, Gilly. π
Love the New Sun Hong Kong one.
Thanks so much. I begged to be photographed. π
thank you for putting up wonderful pictures and info to share with us, cheers! – remember AddGrainOnEarth
Thanks, Sydney. Glad you enjoyed. π
I am the window cleaner in our house so I am glad we don’t live in one of those, although Rick’s is OK π
I’m sure you have enough windows at home, to keep you busy. π
That’s an awful lot of windows to clean…
An incredibly daunting task, I would think. π
Oh, you were referring to that type of window, I was expecting something to do with MS π
Great photos as always AD!
I have no clue about MS windows, so wouldn’t know how to go about doing a post on them. π
Loved the picture of Ricks Cafe – one of my most favourite movies
Thanks so much. Yes, what a fabulous movie. π
Plenty of windows there to choose from. I was thinking which ones I’d like to be looking out of the most. I think the windows at the top of the Chrysler Building must afford quite a view but as San Francisco is a city I’d like to see, the New Sun Hong Kong would be a fun place for lunch. Very nice collection Sylvia. π
Thanks, Adrian. I was reading that there is a dentist practice right at the top of the Chrysler Buildiing. It would be worth going for a dental check up, just for the view. π
Wow, I love the “New Sun” building, ad. Thats quite something.
*hugs*
Yes, it really caught my eye, Hopestar. Of course, it begged for a photo. π Hugs xx
So did you count how many windows are on the Chrysler Builiding? π
I ran out of fingers and toes. π
Lovely windows AD π
I would dearly love to go visit Rick’s cafe in Casablanca – that’s me and my dude’s movie that π
Such a romantic movie. π
We’ll always have Istanbul π
π I wish you could go back again and relive it.
No worries AD π
Every time I look at my pics I do, albeit at a distance π
From White House to Chrysler Building, and a few even more exotic locations in between – how will you top that, I wonder ad? Fantastic collection π
Thanks very much. I need to do some more travelling before I run out of photos, π
I sometimes feel that!
I wouldnβt want to clean those windows either! eeeeeeeeyikes!!!!
We both have much better things to do with our time. π
I think, in my wild imagination, I can take a challenge of cleaning a window from great heights …. for maybe 5 minutes only. Hehehehe. Just one window, one quick sweep. What a thought you injected in my mind.
And what’s that second window, again? Windows of opportunity are way popular than that.
Very true, rommel. I wouldn’t want you to risk your life up there on the Chrysler building. π
NIce choices π
The DC
Glad you liked them. π
Wonderful selections of windows!
Thanks, Amy. Glad you enjoyed. π
These are absolutely wonderful! Thank you for sharing all of them. I can’t decide which one I like best, but I THINK the New Sun Hong Kong Restaurant wins.
Also, your pingback came up on my post for this week, but you don’t have anything showing with your name and gravatar in the comments section. I’m not sure if you did not post there or if it did not come through. One of the readers had a problem with that last time, and I asked him to try re-posting. That worked. You might want to do that if you want people to be able to see who you are.
Thanks for taking part.
I redid my comments and links on your Thursday’s Windows # 5 and 6. Hope it’s okay this time. π
Yes, they posted just fine. And please don’t feel that you HAVE to post your link as a “comment.” I just wanted you to know that nothing was showing up except the pingback in case it mattered to you. One man’s post did that last time too, even though he had actually posted a whole comment and I had replied. It did not show up until he re-did it. The pingbacks will work as a link, but they don’t give people the gravatar to look at and sometimes I think they sort of get lost among the comments with the little pictures. Some people don’t click on the pingbacks as much as they do if they see the little picture too — and maybe a comment. I just didn’t want anyone to miss your great pictures.
Thanks so much for the feedback, Sandra. π Have a wonderful weekend.
Great collection … and thanks for the journey.
Thanks, Frank. Glad you enjoyed. π
windows also fascinate me, well other than ceilings which i photograph often.. nice post and great shots..
Thanks so much, starlight. yes, ceilings are often fascinating too. π
Spectacular windows for sure! Scrolling down that Chrysler Building pic actually makes one quite dizzy!
Thanks, Col. Hope you’ve recovered from the vertigo. π
Only if I stop scrolling, but there is a fascination about it!
That’s what I call being a glutton for punishment. π
What a lovely, varied selection! You DO get around, my dear! π
Thanks, Gunta. It would appear so. π
I love windows! Love the San Francisco one. Soooo cool!! π
Thanks, Angelia. π
Great shots, such variety!
Thanks, Naomi. π
