A friend sent me this video today. It’s so beautiful that I had to share it.
A goose named Maria.…..
I watched it a few times, and then into my head popped that wonderful song from West Side Story.
“Maria, I just met a goose named Maria.” 😀
PS: Please can some kind soul tell me how to put the video in so that it shows the youtube front page rather than just the url? According to the instruction I read on WordPress, it’s supposed to come up automatically. Am I being blonde again?
I’ve set a link to you:

How cute AD, :-).
I think hosting video directly on a site is an upgrade feature. I hope this information help – “Video Press” section, http://en.support.wordpress.com/upgrades/
Thanks, Deborah. I’ll have a look at it. 🙂
They do make a sweet couple 😀 Thank you for sharing this heartwarming story AD.
Okay.. You’ve heard it ad nauseum… Go to video on Youtube. Click on share box (next to like box) below video. When you do that, another box appears = Embed. Click on embed box. Copy the code that shows when the box opens up and simply add/paste it in your post. Then hit Update to refresh your post. It’s that easy. Sometimes a blogger might choose to disable the embed feature. When that happens, I search Youtube for another version posted by someone else… To add video to the comments box like Frizztext did, only copy the http….. URL (without YouTube attached to it)and add to your comments.
Okay, now, change the link in your post to the video… looking forward to seeing Maria’s face appear here. 🙂
Thanks, Elizabeth. I’ve had so many pieces of advice on this one, but haven’t found the time to put any of them to the test. One day. 🙂
Awwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How cute is that??????
Hehehe. Too sweet, hey? Glad you enjoyed. 🙂

Hi Sylvia. I’ve seen this video before, and it’s really cute! I see that the link you have on your post has “embed” in it. I always just go to the link for the original video on YouTube, and copy and paste that link directly into my blog. It’s always worked that the first page of the video shows up in the post. I don’t go to Text or anything, just put it right into the post. I could never make it work following the WordPress instructions……
Thanks, Cathy. I’ll try that way, if there is a next time. 🙂
I wonder how long before that goose becomes a pain, especially if it decides to give him a goose kiss 😀
I so love a good animal story!
Me too. 🙂
odd and also unique 🙂
Yes, very unique. I loved the story. 🙂
Isn’t life wonderful sometimes????
Yes, very wonderful a lot of the time, but this was so surprising to see. 🙂
Fantastic story! 🙂
I don’t have a technical bone in my body so I’m glad there are instructions in the comments on how to do this 😀
Glad you enjoyed, Dianne. Me neither. Maybe one day, I’ll be able to put all the instructions together, and who knows? 😆
like like like………haha
Thanks, Yisha. I thought it was really cute. 🙂
Such a sweet video. 🙂 Thank you so much for sharing, AD! It reminded me the post I did some months ago http://shareandconnect.wordpress.com/2012/08/16/a-story-of-geese/ If you have a moment…
Thanks, Amy. I loved your geese too. 🙂
LOVED THIS AD. Terrific…
Beautiful video my friend ,Thanks for sharing 🙂
Thanks, Jake. Glad you enjoyed it. Missed you last week. 🙂
I love it ad… thanks for sharing :). Hugs to you dollypop. Sorry I haven’t been around. Going back to SA next week… maybe things will normalise.
You’re extremely scarce these days, Dinxie. Hope all is well with you and your lovely family. 🙂 Hugs
This is an awesome story ! thanks for sharing Sylvia
So glad you enjoyed it. I thought is was too cute for words. 🙂
And I thought I was the only one that said that. LOL
Actually it’s quite easy with youtube. You click on the share button below the video box, then select “embed” It’ll give you the HTML code for that video. Then go to your post and select the text (html) window. Paste the embedded code within your post. Voila!
Thanks so much, Emily. I thought there had to be an easy way. Love the “Voila!” 🙂
That is both hysterical and heartwarm!
I liked in the beginning…
“So, how was your night Maria?”
Great ice-breaker, hey? You really made me LOL. 😆
I have not read all the comments but if someone has not mentioned this before here is how I do it.
While creating your new post. Click on text mode, insert your link and preview, you should see it then. If it suddenly disappears and only shows the link remove it go back to text mode and paste it in again. It is a bit fiddly and it seems to toggle on and off depending how you edit your new post. Hope this helps.
Thanks so much for your input, Gb. 🙂 It does sound quite fiddly. Hope you enjoyed the goose story. Have a great weekend.
That is so sweet. When destiny calls, a new friendship begins. Great post.
Thanks. I’m glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
I was so surprised, when she started to fly
following his red motor-cycle!
Me too. It was quite heartwrenching. She seemed so desperate that he shouldn’t leave her. 😦
What a great story … love it!
Meanwhile, do you mean like this? (Well, if it works)
Thanks, Frank. You seem to put so many videos in your posts, that I felt sure you must be the ultimate expert on these matters. 😀
But it didn’t appear in the comments! Check the spacing at your end. After the =, no space before http … also [ and ] at respective ends.
Sometimes when I copy/paste the URL, a space appears (which should NOT be there.) Sample below.
These messages may appear goofy on your blog, so look at them on your dashboard to see how they are written.
Another way … on the YouTube page … click Share … click Embed .. copy the code inside the box, and then paste into the post … The code looks like this.
Thanks so much. I’ll have another go when I’ve got a few hours to spare. 😆
One way to practice is to create a post that you never publish … only preview.
That is just too sweet. I, of course, would have taken the goose in.
Naturally. 😆 That is such an adorable goose.
How odd. Thanks for posting Sylvia. 🙂
Very odd indeed, Adrian. I just love that goose. 🙂
It’s so cute, but absolutely bizarre!
I agree, Gilly. 🙂
I just copy the embedded code form youtube to my post – seems to work.
This I will watch tonight when I’m at home 😉
I’m sure you’ll love it. 🙂 I tried doing that, but it didn’t work. I’ll have another go when i have more time. Hope your Friday is going well.
A wonderful video, thanks for sharing, if you have any other problems with embedding your video let me know, I’ll be glad to lend a hand! Penny
Hi ad, from one blonde to another 😉 Copy the embedded code from youtube. Go to “Add New Post” on WP. On the top right you will see “Visual” and “Text.” Click on “Text” paste your embedded code. Click on Visual and you youtube clip should appear. Usually is shows as a beige square but since you’ve published it shows the actual video. Hope that helps 🙂
That´s good to know – thanks!
Another blonde 🙂
🙂 Hope it helps
The tricky part is simply finding your way to the embed code. I just copy and paste it into my post like any other text.
As for finding the code…. sometimes you have to actually go to it at YouTube (there’s usually a button that says something like “view on YouTube)… then click on the “share” button. That should give you a bunch of gobbledy-gook… copy that and paste it into your post where you want it to show up. That should do it…… 😉
Yep, thats quite right Gunta. 🙂
Thanks, Hopestar. I’ll have another go when I’ve got a bit of time to spare. Hugs to you. Have a great weekend. 🙂
A wonderful story I like it
Thanks, Stefan. It’s really cute, hey? 🙂
Have no idea bout the youtube problem but love the video…
Glad you enjoyed. I suppose that as long as the link works ok, it doesn’t really matter. I just like to do things properly, so I don’t look ‘doff’. 😀
With your photos and travel stories you could never be considered Doff… You’re just not a geek that’s all…
That’s boosted my self confidence, for sure. 😀
Lovely. Unfortunately I am also technically handicapped regarding your problem 😀
Thanks, newsy. I’m so glad I’m not alone. 🙂
Oh yes, very cute ad 🙂
Glad you enjoyed. 🙂
Oh my goodness! That is the cutest thing I have ever seen. Awe!! Now, I’m smitten. 🙂
I think it goes in brackets. Click the video icon and insert the URL there in the YouTube section. It will embed it.
So glad you enjoyed it, Angelia. 🙂 I’ve tried and tried, but still can’t get it right. 😦
AHHH! A wonderful story. Never seen anything like it. Thanks for sharing.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Thanks, Francine. Glad it made you smile. 🙂
