This is the first time I’m doing Cee’s challenge. She asks us to post photos of the ways people go up and down, and says, “The only limit, is that the person actually has to be outdoors and not enclosed in an airplane or helicopter or elevator.” I have a few photos which I think fit the criteria.
The first is of hubby, just about to fall through the air into the safety net after trying out the trapeze at Club Med in Phuket.
Here is our sweet granddaughter climbing up the Jungle Gym when she visited us in South Africa,
and here she is, coming down the other side.
So many steps at the great Wall of China. They just carried on for ever it seemed. and the wall itself is estimated to be over 4,000 miles from end to end. The Great Wall Marathon is a 7.5km ‘fun’ run, which involves 5164 steps. That should get you in trim, for sure. π
This is me, parasailing off the beach in Phuket. What goes up, must come down….right?Β I was hoping like crazy, that this saying was true, and with not too much of a bump either. π ( Do you see that crazy guy with his legs around my waist? He started off standing on my shoulders, and had no harness at all. I was praying that he didn’t fall, or I would have had to work out how to land myself.)
I hope you enjoyed my up and down photos. To see more interpretations of Cee’s Fun Foto challenge, just click here.
That last photo is amazing. I think I would have been screaming at Mr Acrobat!
I was too speechless to make even a little peep. π
lovely photos,
Thanks so much, Stefan. π
Ups and Downs. HA! I LOVE the first picture on this post. That is one of the best entries for a theme I have seen. Very cool. Congrats on nailing the theme. π
Thanks, TG. I’m so glad you enjoyed looking at my Tarzan hubby. π
Hope that scary looking balloon ride ended well.. Great photos. π
It wasn’t a balloon, just a sail. The landing was amazingly smooth, and on the sand, not in the water, as I had feared. π
That guy in the last pic is really crazy!! Your granddaughter is so cute and pretty!
Yes, he did this many times a day! Imagine. Love my little granddaughter to bits. π
lovely photos, I’d like to have a go a the parasailing, and the trapeze for that matter π Date: Fri, 30 Nov 2012 12:34:55 +0000 To: ruth2day@hotmail.com
Thanks, Ruth. You also sound as though you’re not at all afraid of heights. π
You wild and crazy woman! That photo is amazing. I am glad you lived to tell the tale!
You’re not the only one, Naomi. I think hubby was very relieved when I landed safely. π
Oh amazing … if I did it, hmmm..guaranteed …. fainting π
Well best not to try it, I think. π
Brave and adventurous couple you are. Lovely photos AD:-)
Thanks so much, Cocoa. π
These all look like a lot of fun!!! I’m so thrilled you decided to join along in the fun this week.
Thanks so much for a fun challenge, Cee. I hope your weekend is going well. *hugs*
Hubby and you are very adventurous! I’d love to try the parasailing at some stage in life
Hi there, TA. We do have our moments when we throw caution to the wind. π
π you are one crazy lady π I mean it in the nicest possible way! π
Thanks, Paula……… I think. π I’m usually very sensible and dignified, except when I’m not. π
π I meant it a good crazy ;), and yes you are very dignified, don’t ever doubt that π
π No worries, Paula. I think it was quite a compliment. xx
Good, you nice nutter π
Hehehe. It takes one to know one. π
Ouch π
I love to get the last word in. π
I did enjoy them! I love how you clearly love life.
Thanks so much, Tilly. You may have an extra Malteser today. π
π
These are some really perfect shots for the challenge! Your pretty granddaughter ,and you parasailing! That is something I would like to do…but haven’t done yet!
Thanks so much. The parasailing was an awesome experience, but I think you probably only need to do it once. π
The first ones are utterly fun pictures. Your last picture scared me – it has everything I am afraid of: heights, shaky movements, etc. I shivered just looking at it. :-)) I have a serious fear of heights, you see, You are very brave and adventurous. π
Thanks, Imelda. Lucky for me, I’m not scared of heights. π
Hubby. Brave. Grand daughter. Adorable. You, parasailing. Priceless!
Hahaha. Thanks, Gemma. π
Look at you being all adventurous and daring. I should try the Trapeze, that looks like so much fun.
I’m sure you’d enjoy it. I so wanted to try it when we went again earlier this year, but it was too windy, and raining a lot of the time. π¦
Fantastic choices as usual!
Thanks, Gunta. π
Fit the theme perfectly, AD! I admire you being up in the sky… π
Thanks so much, Amy. π
Going up is often hard work. Going down is fun, but the landing is always the crucial part. Like jumping off the top storey of a skyscraper, and remarking, ‘So far so good,’ as each floor is passed.
Never a truer word was spoken, Col. π
These photos are such fun! Now I feel like getting outdoors (but not parasailing)! π
Hehehe. Really?
Particularly with that fellow hanging off my waist – you must have been very nervous thinking he may fall! π―
Funnily enough, the thought never crossed my mind whilst I was up there. I was too busy enjoying the view and the adrenalin rush. π
That is some wild stuff Sylvia!
Not nearly as wild as the stuff you post, Phil. π
That’s very brave Sylvia, I’d almost rather be on my own than trust someone else!!!
I really don’t know what came over me that day. π I was most insistent that I had to do it, even though hubby wasn’t at all keen that I should, because he knows what a scaredy cat I really am.
Ohh, jelly legs from me just looking at that skydive and first shot!
You can tell neither of us are afraid of heights, hey? π
Fantastic photos of amazing experiences π
Thanks, Anne. π
I could use the “A” word here π
The DC
π Thanks, Steve. Have a great weekend.
You too,my friend π
These are fun photos Sylvia and perfect for the challenge. Very game of your husband to try the trapeze! Did you enjoy the parasailing? π
I think that “enjoy” isn’t quite the right word. π It was certainly very exhilarating, and I wish it had lasted twice as long. I amazed myself and hubby, that day. I never knew I was so brave and reckless. π
Oh, I am so jealous, but in a good way.
This is absolutely breathtaking!!!
Thanks, Amber. π

Great interpretation AD π
Thanks, Tandy. π
You just have the knack of posting the most magnificent photos of every challenge sent to test you… If I was Cee.. I’d give up she will never stump you… love the post…
Thanks so much, bdt. π I think Cee is just getting started. She’s not the giving up type. π
Cool challenge! I would love to participate too perhaps after the new year. Great entry!!!:)
Thanks, Nicole. π
Wow! You are so brave to do parasailing! Good job! And your husband is quite the trapeze artist! Your granddaughter on the jungle gym is priceless. π
Thanks, Cathy. I amazed myself, and hubby too. Glad you enjoyed the pics for the challenge. π
Loved your ups and downs ad, especially the para-sailing! Thank heavens that guy didn’t fall! π
Yes, thank heavens indeed, Hopestar. π Hugs to you.
You are very brave AD π
That’s me……. No Fear. π
On the last pic, is that two people?
Yes, it’s me and the “Monkey Man”. π
Oh my …. that’s makes it even better!
Great pics and as a grandfather I can say your grandie girl is a whopper, mine is almost a year old.
Thanks, newsy. They grow up so fast. My eldest is seventeen. π

Yikes! That parasailer guy is nuts! The Great Wall looks amazing. And how cute is your granddaughter. Awe. Great photos.
Thanks, Angelia. Do you think I was also nuts? π
Well, at least you are hooked up to a parachute! HA.
This is true, Angelia, but I wouldn’t have had a clue what to do with it. π No wonder I had to sign an indemnity form. π
lovely pictures and some scary for me …;)
Thanks, Gerry. Kinda scary for me too. π
