One of my favourite songs is this one, and it seemed rather apt for Sue’s challenge.
Bows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere
I’ve looked at clouds that way
But now they only block the sun
They rain and snow on everyone
So many things I would have done
But clouds got in my way
I’ve looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down, and still somehow
It’s cloud illusions I recall
I really don’t know clouds at all ~ Joni Mitchell
Here’s my second take on Sue’s ‘Word a Week’ Cloud challenge. Yesterday I got a bit sidetracked by the sweet little love birds, but today I’ve decided to give you some serious clouds. Just click on any photo to get a slide show.

All beautiful clouds, but I especially love Venice Lagoon in Italy. 🙂
Yes, it was a marvelous sunset that particular evening. 🙂
Amazing cloud shots! And not sure how I got so behind with your posts 🙂
I’m also way behind after my two weeks away over Christmas, and last week in Belize. Thanks for the catch up. I’m on my way. 😀
Haha, love your cloudy version of Both sides now. 😉 your photos are amazing. 🙂
Glad you enjoyed, Inga. 🙂
Great photos, great words, great tune can’t get it out of my mind now
Thanks so much, Pommepal. 🙂
You can never have too many rainbows and I’m going to be humming that song for the rest of the day now
This is true, Dallas. 😀
You captured quite the variety … love the ending with the rainbow!
Thanks so much, Frank. 🙂
What a lovely cloud collection you have!
So glad you enjoyed them. 🙂
Love that song…. always have. And I think the lyrics are pretty profound (as opposed to one of your other commentators) 🙂 Love the cloud piccies.
Been catching up with you Syl. Good to see all your pics and posts … even went back to your Phi phi island one. And your sister’s work is magnificent (in case I hadn’t told you before).
Glad all is well in FLA!! Thanks for your reply – and good wishes – much appreciated. Hugs and stuff and btw, my non-resolution resolution for 2013 is to start blogging again… trying to get it right.. at least I’ve started :). xxx
Thanks for the catch-up, Dinx. Yes, I also think Joni’s song is truly wonderful. My sister is so thrilled because she’s just sold 25 of her paintings to only two people, twenty of them bought by a member of the Zulu Royal family. Have a really great year, and keep up the blogging. I missed you. 😕 xxx
It is so hot here today I hope we have some clouds!
Yes, it sounds as though you’ve all been suffering from the heat there in SA. 😦
You know, I’ve heard that song a thousand times and never thought about it. I started reading what I believed was a poem and felt it was rather a bad poem…then I got to the end.
Oh dear! She’s not a great lyricist, is she? 🙂
I love the words of that song, and it did very well for her. She’s won so many awards and accolades in her musical career, so she must be doing something right. 🙂
Really beautiful clouds in all your photo’s. I have always loved looking up at them… That is one lovely sad song – one of my favourites, AD.
a real cloudy treat, around the world! joni is an old favourite of ours, from way back when … well, you remember!
yessssssss……………it is seriously clouds!!!!! 😀

Joni Mitchell’s song is one of my all time favourites. Love the picture 🙂

Thanks, Dianne. Glad you enjoyed the song and pics. 🙂
Nice back yard, but oh, that Venice sunset!
Thanks, Jo. Yes, Venice really ‘took the cake’. https://adinparadise.wordpress.com/2012/08/19/travel-theme-sunsets/
Clouds are endlessly fascinating.
Yes they are, Debra. Magically so. 🙂
You have crowds of clouds!
That Joni Mitchell number is lovely. The poetic constuction, too, is so perfect even in its apparent simplicity.
I do indeed, Col. Joni wrote some brilliant songs.
Fluffy white … things up there, do you remember were that comes from ????
Great shots again, but what to expect ???? I love to take photos of clouds when I fly … some of my clouds will come in my yearly photo book in March. Your backyard, my pick of this lovely bunch.
I do remember a song from my childhood, “White fluffy clouds in a cluster, hanging on the breeze to dry.” I think it was Max Bygraves…….. goodness, that really ages me! 😯
No … I will give you the short code – you have to watch the video .. old as me nearly but so fun. Here it’s – http://wp.me/p293Pw-3oY
Each time I picked a favorite, the next one turned out to be even better! Beautiful images and the quote, too. Joni Mitchell was always one of my favorites.
Thanks so much, Gunta. I think that quite often we don’t notice the clouds when we’re actually taking the pics, but they pop out at you when you see them on the screen. I’m sure this doesn’t apply to you, because you’re an expert sky photographer. 🙂
You give me far too much credit. I get lots of surprises when I download them to the computer. Mostly pleasant ones. 😉
Hi,
Great photos, I especially love the colours in the photo from Venice very nice.
Thanks so much, mags. 🙂
They’re all so pretty. After looking at the pics, I think I’d go to Jamaica first 🙂
Off you go then. 😀
I can’t go yet, unless you’d like to pay for my plane ticket 😉
Hehehe…..nice try, TA. 🙂
Beautiful… especially the rainbow clouds and sunset clouds.
Thanks so much, Imelda. 🙂

Beautiful clouds and song – perfect match 🙂
Thanks so much, Anne. 🙂
I am floating away, around the world, on your beautifully photographed clouds.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Hahaha. Thanks for the compliment, Francine. Don’t go too far away. 🙂
They are gorgeous and the ok corral looks like a painted backdrop!
Thanks, Gilly. It was real enough, but of course the figures were only made of wood, for which I was thankful. 😀
I love pictures of clouds! Awesome!
Glad you enjoyed, Suzanne. 🙂
I started to say nobody does sunsets better than Florida and then I saw your Venice shot. Gorgeous. Gives me goosebumps. Nikki
Thanks so much. Venice did beat them all. https://adinparadise.wordpress.com/2012/08/19/travel-theme-sunsets/
