This week, Jake’s Sunday Post Challenge is ‘Window’. These beautiful stained glass windows in the 11th century Chichester Cathedral in England, must surely qualify as some of the loveliest I’ve ever seen.

Beautiful!

Glorious shots, Ad. π
There’s just something about stained glass windows. You captured these brilliantly. You never fail to come up with the perfect answers to the challenge.
Oh, I have actually been to Chichester cathedral way back in 1993. π
So I’m sure my photos brought back memories, Inga. Did you also get window pics?
I must say I don’t quite remember. I was 15 and on a summer language course in England. I remember I didn’t findt Chichester all that interesting. Today on the other hand I probably would π
Superb windows, the colors are fantastic!
Thanks so much. Glad you liked them. π
BEAUTIFUL! I love stained glass windows, especially those found in churches.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Thanks, Francine. π
There have been a number of stained glass windows in response to the theme, but these are spectacular ones, indeed.
Thanks, Col. They are rather special, aren’t they?
Gorgeous colours! Must be amazing during sunset!
Thanks, Madhu. Yes it must be a sight to see. π

Great Shots AD ! Never been to Chichester .. looks like I should π
They show the skill and true craftmanship of the time with the stained glass. With so much visual goings on to feast upon in those windows … no fear of nodding off during the sermon π
Hehehe…….. it’s a beautiful cathedral, with lots of wonderful features to keep you wide awake, Poppy. π
Stunning! When I see windows like this, I always think about the incredible number of hours spent creating these masterpieces.
Yes, they are real works of art and must take endless patience, as well as amazing skill.
These are really beautiful. I, too, love looking at stained glass windows.
Thanks, Colline. π
Evening! π I adore stained glass windows and saw some incredible work in the U.K churches. Loved these shots…Hugs Paula xxx
Well it’s lunchtime here, Paula. π Thanks for liking my windows.
You’re right AD. Those are beautiful windows indeed…
Enjoy the week π
Thanks, 68. I hope yours goes exceedingly well too. π xx
I’m always awed by stained glass windows and I enjoy a quiet stroll around any church preferably when it’s quiet
I’m with you there, Dallas. A church visit is always so much better when there’s nothing going on there. π
I love stained windows AD and these are absolutely gorgeous hon! Thanks for the lovely share hon. Great entry! *big hugs*
Thanks so much, Sonel. Hugs to you too. π
You’re welcome hon. π *hugs*

Simply lovely, Sylvia. Great choices for the theme. I’m with Cathy, my favorite is the third one as well.
Thanks so much, Tahira. Mine too. π
Absolutely amazing – you have to wonder how long it took to make and place all this glass! An incredibly feat π
It is quite mind boggling, isn’t it, when you think about it? π
Beautiful, Sylvia! Excellent choice for the theme, too.
Thanks, Naomi. Glad you enjoyed my choice. π
Thank you for share your words, emotions, imagination and ideas, Have nice day
Wishing you a wonderful day too, Stefan. π
The time it took the artist to create this is just amazing.
Agreed. Thanks so much for your comment. π
I have the last photo as well but with bright sun behind it so not as good!
Yes, this one turned out quite well, but they are difficult to photograph. One can never do them justice.
Wow! so beautiful.
Thanks so much. π
Stunning pictures. What amazes me is how they remained intact and just as colorful as they were when created in the 11th c.
Thanks so much, Lynne. I think some of those windows might be more modern than the cathedral itself, although I’m not too sure.
Those stained glass windows are incredible π
I have to agree with you, Chris. π
Stunning
Thanks, Mel π
What beautiful stained glass windows. They’re all stunning photos, but that 3rd one is the best!
Thanks so much, Cathy. Yes, the third one is also my favourite. π
I was thinking how I never manage to take good stained glass window pictures, but just last night I started posting about my trip to Paris on my Europe blog and I found a beautiful pic of one from Notre Dame. Funny how we forget about these pictures we took long ago. π
Yes, I sometimes have a few minutes to look through old photos, and see something I’d forgotten about, Cathy.
Those certainly are stunning Sylvia! Had to be incredible to see in person but these pics provide the next best thing! π
Thanks so much, Phil. π
