When the wind gets up here, the kite surfers suddenly descend on the beach. I wonder if they’ve called in to the office sick, saying they’ve got wind. π
FUN … activity. I enjoy flying a kite. It’s been awhile. Thanks for the reminder.

Yes, it’s something I haven’t done for years. I don’t even like wind now I’m grown up, but used to love it as a child. π
Ha! I love the “got wind” joke :-). Although I don’t think there’s any point in me trying that one. “It’s never stopped you before” will be the likely reply.
You’re funny, Lance. π
Nice photo. Lovely sky. I used to use ‘got wind’ reason. π
Thanks so much. π
HEHEHEHEHE! You are so funny. There are times I SHOULD HAVE called in sick with wind! But don’t tell anyone it was me! π Love SBD
Glad you enjoyed, Marsha, π Love to you too.
Beautiful shot and words.
Thanks so much, Lila. π
I love watching them, it all looks so effortless until you try it, then you realise such freedom is hard won
I’ve never tried it, sidey. I’m really not a water baby, but I do envy them. π
i watched a beginner, lots of armstrength was needed
This entry is too cute! The kite-surfers are most ardent and there is quite a plethora of them here. Lovely photo!
It makes it a bit apprehensive sometimes when one is out swimming the surf busily kissing sharks, when suddenly a great hooting hulk attached to a board with a massive rainbow bloatie kite thing bobbing behind him descends from the heavens and nearly sails onto one’s head and then skates right onto the wee toothy mouths of poor unsuspecting sharkies nibbling the surface of the sea for some tasty wee sardines. Har har, it is Quite fun to watch those aerobatic maneuvers the flying-kite-individuals make to avoid these such collisions π
Beautiful fun. Have a groovy weekend,
-Smiling Toad
Thanks so much for liking my photo. π Happily we have shark nets here, so no chance of nibblies. The kite surfers are fascinating to watch, and I’ve never seen any collisions.
Haha, no no I’ve never seen any collisions (or orechestrated, I mean, been part of one), either. The tremendous skill and energy that goes into the sport is astounding, and how absolutely beautiful they look- an aerial ballet, surfing the wind. Love it, beautiful post. As always. Grins,
Autumn Jade
Got wind…
AHAHA π
Not a bad excuse at that π
Glad you thought so, 68. π
You and Col cracked me up! Bwahahaha!
We’d make a good team, adee. π
The same thing happens here!
I’βm sure you have a lot more wind down there, Tandy. π
Super cool photo!!! Love anyone who can make “wind” jokes π
Thanks, Lexi. Glad you enjoyed the fun. π
Wind is uncomfortable for some, but creating joy for others.
Exactly so, Frank. π
‘Got wind’ is a classic! Surfers get a floating feeling that comes in waves?
Hehehe………glad you breezed in and joined in the fun, Col. π
Wind, surf, sky and sunshine. Have I told you yet that I can fly. The problem is that I mislaid my wings and can’t find them.
“Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.β

Lovely flying quote, Rebecca. I wonder where your wings are hiding. π
always looked like fun to me but never tried it…great shot though!
Thanks, Heather. Me neither, but I love to watch.
It looks fun but iΒ΄m sure that itΒ΄s a bit tricky to kite surf … A great photo as always from you ! π // Maria
Yes, I’m sure it’s much harder than it looks, Maria. π
What a great picture (and I had a good giggle) π
Thanks, Dianne. Glad you did. π
It looks like a lot of fun…. something I might have wanted to try in my much younger days (daze?) π
Hahaha……..love the “daze” bit. π
A friend of mine owns a kite boarding shop but I never tried it. It’s a lot harder then it looks I know and it looks hard to begin with.
Yes I’m sure it’s not an easy sport. You can’t teach an old dog new tricks. (I’m referring to me, not you, Phil.) π
Ha Ha! I’ve been called worse. Well…maybe just once… or twice. π
I would be scared but it looks like so much fun!!!!!!
This is exactly how I feel too. π
Dear Sylvia, you started my day with a smile!
Happy to oblige, Naomi. π
I love the feeling of freedom , the most beautiful is that adrenaline , often many times I’ve tasted that wonderful feeling of bird’s eye view – I have to admit. beautiful . Have a nice day
Thanks so much for your lovely comment, Stefan. Adrenaline is always good. π
Haha I wonder if i’d get away with ‘wind’ sickness working in the nhs!
You could always give it a try, Gilly. π
How fun! I have tried wind surfing but not kite surfing…maybe a new idea for this summer. π
Let us know if you do. It does look like fun, and I’m sure it’s a great workout for the abs. π
I will! And anything that makes me work my abs is a good thing. π
Lol!
π
One of my coworkers called out sick once claiming his cat was suicidal and that his window was broken and he was afraid that his cat would jump to her death. You know, he kept his job.
Well I should jolly well hopes so. I never heard a better reason for staying off work. π
LOL, I wish you were my boss. I could come up with some wonderful excuses.
That does look windy! lucky its not the baked beans type of windy π
nice shot …
Thanks so much. π
you are welcome

Hopefully not. π
I know that spot, it’s across the road from the kite surf shop http://www.ocean2air.co.za π
Hahaha. You recognised it. π
Oh to be that young again! Good for them. Maybe the boss is right there with them.
Absolutely, Lynne. Life is too short. π
Good for them! Who wouldn’t rather be playing in the wind than sitting in an office!? π
You’re so right, Cathy. It’s all about priorities. π
I agree with Sonel… there must be some real good excuses that get made to bosses… love the suffering from wind one…
Thanks, bulldog. π
Whahahahaha! I can just hear those excuses… π
Great shot AD and thanks for sharing hon. π *hugs*
Thanks so much, Sonel. Glad I made you smile. π xx
