That was thoughtful π
We do our best. π
Not many of those sent out, the next is 105 π
I’m sure she’s going to make the next one too. π
Fabulous! π
Thanks, Inga. π
She must of loved that!! 100years is quite amazing really!! Did she vote in the Zim elections by any chance!!! π
Yes she was absolutely thrilled. We also bought her an original August 4th, 1913 Daily telegraph newspaper. It’s fascinating to look through and see the news and advertisements on that day. π
a true heirloom!
Indeed. π
That was some gift ! I canΒ΄t fathom that she is 100 years , she looks much younger at your photos of here ! // Maria π
Yes she does look really great for her age, Maria. π

She was so thrilled with it. π
Beautifully done!
Thanks, Gilly. π
Beautiful frame! I missed to ask (or you already told and I missed). Is it a tradition that the queen sent this letter to a person who live to 100 years?
Thanks, YC. Yes it’s been a tradition in England since 1917. It started with King George V. π
I love the queen even though I’m all the way over here in Atlanta. I would cherish this gift, as I’m sure your MIL does!
That’s good to know, Elisa. The Queen is a very gracious lady indeed. π
I bet it will be displayed in a prominent spot to remind her of the wonderful day.
My mum made it (exactly) to her 96th. I wonder if our president would have sent her a card if she had hung on another 4 years. Probably not, we’re just not that cool!
Yes it’s already up in the entrance hall. This tradition started with King George V in 1917, so it’s been going on for almost a hundred years. π We British are very cool indeed. π
Long live our Gracious Queen! And a big hug to your 100 year “woman of the century.” I am celebrating!!!
What a superb comment, Rebecca! Thank you for your enthusiastic hug. I will pass it on to our ‘woman of the century.” π xx
How wonderful!! Your mother in law must feel so special! π
