My entry for week 7 of Ese’s Shoot and Quote Challenge – Scent.
“hark, now hear the sailors cry,
smell the sea, and feel the sky
let your soul & spirit fly, into the mystic…” ~ Van Morrison
This photo was taken at Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
Beautiful … !!!!! I love the colors. I visited Punta Cana when my sister was going to medical school. It’s a lovely island.
Issy
Great shot! I enjoyed our visit there, but didn’t get a shot like this.
It is a special place, isn’t it.? 🙂
Fantastic colors!
Thanks, Inga. 🙂
Did you put down your camera and wade into the water? It does look inviting! 🙂
Yes, and it was very warm. Such a beautiful place. 🙂
Awesome. Of course, you would experience everything! I love your sense of adventure! 🙂
The waters in the Caribbean are spectacular, aren’t they? This shot certainly did capture them very well.

Have a nice sunday !
Here in the italian purgatory, itìs raining strong
Thanks so much, Max. Sorry about your weather. Here in Florida, it is beautiful. 🙂
What beautiful waters, you’ve captured the sea in a tropical mood. I love wild variety of colours the oceans offers us, all across the globe. Beautiful 🙂
Thanks, Seonaid. Yes, it was a really beautiful place to spend some time. 🙂
Fabulous quote from the lyrics of Sri Van Morrison, and I do believe I can smell the sea from your photo. You know, when I’m out photographing the herons, I’m on the water up to 7-8 hours at a stretch, but it’s always freshwater. Sometimes I long for the smells of the sea, the salt spray. The scent of the lake, though, is rich and sustaining in its own earthy way. But your photo brought me the sea while I was sitting on the lake today. Seems like the best of both worlds. Thanks for that.
Thanks, Babsje. I’m glad my photo brought the ocean to you today. 🙂
You’re welcome, and me too! My local boathouse on the lake s only open for another 8 days, and then I get to go either to the Charles River or to the Atlantic Ocean, or both. I vote for both!
Oh yes, definitely choose both. You only live once. 🙂
oh so beauteous!!
Thanks, Cindy. :
How perfect a scene is that? I love those very special places where you can hardly tell where the sea ends and the sky begins!
Thanks, Jody. It was such a paradise there. We didn’t want to leave. 🙂
Have to agree with col on this one…. utterly surreal. Amazing the places you’ve been, the sights you’ve seen (and the nails!) 😉
Thanks, Gunta. You’re never going to forget those nails, are you? I shall have to find an excuse to resurrect them especially for you, one day when you least expect it. 🙂
😀 wishing there was a smiley face to express laughing out loud…

‘Van the Man’ is singer/songwriter from Belfast, Northern Ireland. You must remember one of his most popular songs, ‘Brown Eyed Girl’. 😕

The emerald green is so inviting to wade in or swim. The catching of the bird (Pelican?) is lively.
Yes, it is a pelican. Well spotted. 🙂
