Ese’s Shoot and Quote Challenge: The scent of the sea

My entry for week 7 of  Ese’s Shoot and Quote Challenge – Scent.

“hark, now hear the sailors cry,
smell the sea, and feel the sky
let your soul & spirit fly, into the mystic…”  ~ Van Morrison

This photo was taken at Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

  1. What beautiful waters, you’ve captured the sea in a tropical mood. I love wild variety of colours the oceans offers us, all across the globe. Beautiful 🙂

  2. Fabulous quote from the lyrics of Sri Van Morrison, and I do believe I can smell the sea from your photo. You know, when I’m out photographing the herons, I’m on the water up to 7-8 hours at a stretch, but it’s always freshwater. Sometimes I long for the smells of the sea, the salt spray. The scent of the lake, though, is rich and sustaining in its own earthy way. But your photo brought me the sea while I was sitting on the lake today. Seems like the best of both worlds. Thanks for that.

  3. How perfect a scene is that? I love those very special places where you can hardly tell where the sea ends and the sky begins!

  4. Have to agree with col on this one…. utterly surreal. Amazing the places you’ve been, the sights you’ve seen (and the nails!) 😉

  5. Big Aaaah moment AD … so lovely … would love to dip in there … suppose YOU did 😉

    • ‘Van the Man’ is singer/songwriter from Belfast, Northern Ireland. You must remember one of his most popular songs, ‘Brown Eyed Girl’. 😕

  6. Yes there is nothing like the scent of the Sea ! Beautiful hues you have captured.
