Ese’s Shoot and Quote Challenge: Obsession

“Obsession is when something will not leave your mind.”Β  ~ Eric Clapton

This one is for my dear blog friend, Gunta. Since I first posted this pic in January this year, it would appear that she hasn’t been able to erase the image from her brain, as she has mentioned it on several occasions in her comments, and I threatened to re-post it if the opportunity ever arose, so here you are, Gunta. I hope you don’t have nightmares tonight. πŸ™‚

I managed to get a shot of this blingy manicure, when on a flight from Lamanai to San Pedro. I engaged the Belizean lady in conversation, with the express intention of blogging her nails. She proudly informed me that the safety chains were necessary because her β€˜pinky’ nails were crafted from solid gold.

  1. This fits perfectly, Sylvia and I must admit – does seem leaning into the direction of obsession. Or more than leaning… πŸ™‚
And I bet Gunta was absolutely overjoyed to see it again! πŸ˜€

  2. Good grief! Clearly she is not a housewife. LOL! Lovely shot Sylvia and lucky for her that she has the chains on. It looks like the one pinky nail is about ready to fall off…

  3. Well, i also do my nails once a month … But i never ever had nails like hers πŸ˜‰ … I call my nails, nurse nails with a French touch πŸ˜‰ … Maria πŸ™‚

    • πŸ™‚ … My nails are rather short, because of my job as nurse …. And i always have french manicure … So that is why i call them nursenails with a French touch πŸ˜‰ … // Maria πŸ™‚

  5. I can’t imagine how long it takes to do a manicure like that. I get regular plain manicures and get tired after 30 minutes. How does she manage to clean and dust? BUT … it’s the perfect photo for the challenge. Lucky you for taking the photo.
    Issy xo

  6. Wow! I feel like nails like these would essentially render her helpless. They’re beautiful, but solid gold! I can’t stop thinking of all the things she CAN’T do with nails like these — open a car door, dial a phone, zip her jeans…

    Now I’m getting obsessed.

  7. spero di non ricevere mai uno sgraffio dalla signora…poi mi piacerebbe sapere come fa a dormire, si toglie gli abiti e le unghie? ;-(
I hope not to ever receive a Mrs sgraffio … then I’d like to know how do you sleep, you take off your clothes and your nails?

Needless to say, your beauty shot!

  8. Once seen, never forgotten.
Of course, if she really wanted to suffer for her art the safety-chains could have been attached to safety pins poked through the fingers?

  9. Wish you could have heard the burst of laughter when I pulled this entry of yours up! Shall we keep this one-upmanship going, or call it quits? πŸ˜€

  10. I remember these too AD :- x
Is it really all that time ago … just think where you have been since then πŸ˜‰

    • Well, how could you possibly forget, Poppy. πŸ™‚ Yes, it does seem an age ago to me. I’m off to Costa Rica next month. Who knows what I might find there? πŸ™‚
