Death by Chocolate Cheesecake.

We had such a great day today, and I saw my sister’s lovely new house for the first time. Of course, my mom was there in her Sunday best, and looking very good indeed. Scrumptious roast pork lunch with all the trimmings was on the menu, and I had been requested to make a chocolate cheesecake, which I happily did. When my sister saw it, she exclaimed, “You really don’t do things by halves, do you?” I have to say that it was absolutely ‘to die for’. Please help yourself to a slice, but you’d better not ask how many calories, and please don’t take the white bunny. That’s my brother-in-law’s. πŸ™‚

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend.

Delicious pics for Jake’s theme.

Jake’s Sunday post theme this week, is “Delicious,” and I could think of any number of delicious food photos that I have in my albums. The only problem is that you’ve already seen my desserts, gelato, and Sunday lunch pics, and I don’t want to bore you with them again. πŸ™‚

Anyway, two of my grandchildren came to the rescue. Firstly, here is Sienna, biting into her delicious chocolate muffin. Yummy!

The family in New York, went apple picking at the weekend, and I pinched this photo from Facebook, of little Max sampling one of the pickings. Note that he has a doughnut in the other hand, so he certainly wasn’t intending going hungry. πŸ™‚

Well maybe, I will bore you just a teensy bit. πŸ™‚

Please help yourself to a slice of each, whilst I get on with my packing. πŸ˜†

Such Sunday feasts will be greatly missed.

Yesterday was our last Sunday lunch at my sister’s house, before we leave to go back to our house in Florida for six months.Β  My brother-in-law is a fantastic cook, and this time, we were treated to slow roasted beef fillet,

together with lamb curry, an assortment of roast vegetables, and my favourite mushroom sauce.

My mom, being the eldest, always gets to help herself first. As she was walking back to her place at the table, a voice piped up, “Are you sure you have enough food there?” Of course, we all turned to look at her plate, which was full almost to overflowing. For such a tiny person, she sure has a good appetite. It all went down really well, together with good wine, and between the nine of us, there was lots of conversation and laughter.

I’m really going to miss these delicious occasions, but I suppose the time will fly by, as it is wont to do, and we’ll soon be back again.

I guess they’ll miss my decadent desserts whilst we’re away. Don’t even ask how many calories in this chocolate cheesecake. πŸ™‚

Whilst all this was going on, Dingo took the opportunity to grab a bit of solitude, and slept in the sun, undisturbed.

Hope you all had a great weekend too.
