Wordless Wednesday: Take a seat

I couldn’t resist getting a shot of this colourful stool outside a shop in Heidelberg, Germany. Do you think that if it hadn’t been chained up, someone might have been tempted to run away with it? 😀

Wordless Wednesday: Chicken Little was right.

“Listen to me, everybody! I’m your new leader! I’m gonna save your lives! I’m gonna tell you what to do!” ~ Chicken Little (1943)

Do you remember the story of Chicken Little or Henny-Penny, who caused absolute hysteria in the farmyard, when after an acorn fell on her head, she spread the word that the sky was falling? Well, she was absolutely right. 🙂

Wordless Wednesday: Race you to the top!

If you’re feeling energetic you can climb the spiral stone staircase up into the South Tower of Cologne Cathedral. There are 533 steps to the observation deck, but the top of the spire at an altitude of 157.3 m, is accessible only via a ladder on the outside. There is no elevator. 🙂

Wordless Wednesday: The Giant’s Face

Here is an unusual lichen-covered rock formation at St. Michael’s Mount in Cornwall. It is called “The Giant’s Face.” Legend says that a mythical giant named Cormoran once lived on the Mount, and he used to wade ashore and steal cows and sheep from the villagers to feed his gargantuan appetite. I wonder if this is what he looked like?
